BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in Montana, Carla has always had an appreciation for art. Inspired by the natural beauty of Big Sky Country, her early pieces included paintings on skulls, wash boards, weathered wood, rocks, and antique wooden doors. Local home and business owners began commissioning her to paint murals and create detailed custom stencils for their homes and offices.

Her passion to create innovative art eventually led her to study at a professional faux finishing school in Seattle, Washington. Shortly after, her husband Kendall was trained in European plasters in Denver, Colorado and certified and licensed by the School of Italian Plasters in Atlanta, Georgia. The couple then started their own texturing company called CopperLeaf®, sophisticated surface finishes™.

Carla later received her professional interior design license from the Sheffield Interior Design School in New York City, a school renowned for its high rate of first class designers.

Carla and Kendall are constantly learning new techniques to expand their repertoire. Using walls, stone, canvas, furniture, frames, doors, wine bottles, and metal they apply rich textures to create custom pieces of authentic fine art. They use a wide variety of application techniques including European plasters, waxes, stone carvings and etchings, sandstone, limestone, quartzstone, lusterstone, and glazes. Together, they offer a diverse collection of unique and stylish home decor.
